DC Duck Tour

We took a tour of Washington D.C. on an amphibious vehicle called a duck. This is the duck we rode in. It drives around the monuments and the capital and then it goes into the Potomac River. It was a lot of fun and it was the highlight of the day for all the boys. They especially like driving in and out of the water.

We all got quackers for taking a duck tour

Dylon used it as a new pacifier

We made it to the Chesapeake Bay!

We went to the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomon's Island, Maryland. There is a lightouse that you can walk through and tour. It is the Drum Point Lighthouse.

Here is the light at the top of the lighthouse.

They all have a little Captain in them

Dylon in the kids room...he's a great sailor

Dylon making friends with a turtle. We all got to touch a turtle and a horseshoe crab.

Jamestown

Tuesday we went to Jamestown. That's were the first English colony was established. There were the restored ships that they journeyed over on. We toured all of them...the boys made certain we saw every nook and crany of them. We walked through the fort and saw them making nails and pegs that they will use to build a new building. They build them exactly the way they used to back then. It was really neat to see.

Colonial Williamsburg

Sorry it has been a while since the last post, we haven't had the best internet access. Here's a recap of the week!
After an adventure to find a bus and then finally calling a taxi we made it into Colonial
Williamsburg. It is a colonial town from the Revolutionary War era. I didn't take too many good pictures here.

This is Sam's hat...Dylon and JD were trying it on.

Paul and Sam posing for the camera.

We made it to Virginia!

Along our trip we've seen lots of lightening bugs at night. Here is a video of some of them.
It might be had to see, sorry.

We arrived in Williamsburg, Virginia on Monday evening. We finally found a RV park where the pool stayed open until 9pm. The boys were in need of some pool time.

Day #3

We left Russellville, Arkansas and made it to Crossville, Tennesse. We passed through Little Rock, Memphis, and Nashville. JD wanted BBQ since we hit Memphis at 10:30 in the morning so we had it for dinner.
Paul and his lizard face.
We crossed the mighty Mississippi River too! Here's the bridge coming up.

Day #2

We left Hays, Kansas and made it to Russelville, Arkansas. We dropped down to I-40 and went through Tulsa.

It was hot, we needed ice cream!

Josh found us dinner. Yummy Armadillo!

Our Journey Has Begun

We hit the road around 5 pm on Friday night. We made it the the Wal-Mart in Hays, Kansas. What a nice RV park, ok not really. But we were all shocked that how many people were spending the night there. Josh thought we needed strength in numbers so he pulled right up to another RV. We all made him move to the other side of the parking lot.
